Engineering tool 01 · in development

Data centre enclosures and containment.

The domain we know best, and the first one we are building a tool for. An enclosure job is design, a fabricator, an inspector and a delivery — four parties, one paper trail. That is what the tool holds together.

Containerised data centre unit, side elevation with lifting arrangement A schematic side elevation of a containerised unit: cooling plant at one end, two rack rows, an access door at the other end, corner castings, a transport envelope dimension across the top, and a two-leg sling rigged to the top corner lugs. What the tool does, stage by stage

01
What the tool does at each stage of an enclosure job
StageWhat the tool does
01Thermal and structural design, calculationsSizing sheets that keep every revision — what changed, who changed it
02Fabricator selection and qualificationVendor register, qualification records, enquiries compared side by side
03Fabrication by a third-party shopProgress, hold points and chasing, all recorded against the order
04Inspection at agreed hold pointsFindings raised, tracked and closed out — not a PDF in a folder
05Route survey, lifting study, delivery to siteStudy sheets, packing and lashing documents, one delivery pack
06Cost, variations and the final accountEstimate to quotation to variation to invoice, one chain, nothing retyped

What it covers

02

Aisle containment

Doors, roofs, ducting, blanking. The sizing for common rack pitches, and the check sheet that proves it fits your hall.

ASHRAE TC 9.9 · TIA-942 · EN 50600 · NFPA 75

Containerised & modular

Edge and remote units. Transport checks, factory test records and the shipment document set, assembled as the job runs rather than at the end.

ISO 1496 · IEC 60529 · ASCE 7 / EN 1991

E-houses & BOP skids

Structural and mechanical calculations for electrical houses and equipment skids, held against the drawing revision they belong to.

IEC 61439 · NEMA 250 · IEEE 1584 · AISC 360

Why us for this

03

Containment is a thermal problem before it is a steel problem

Approach temperatures, pressure drop and airflow are the same physics whether the medium is process gas or hall air.

Getting it there is the other half

Modular units are oversize loads. Route surveys, lifting calculations and lashing drawings are part of the job, so they are part of the tool — not a separate folder someone rebuilds at the factory gate.

The rest of the family

04

Nothing here is only about enclosures. Design, vendors, inspection, delivery and the final account is the shape of almost every job in every technical trade — which is why the same tool, pointed at a different domain, fits without being rebuilt.
